Bow River Chapter Board of Directors

President - Garth Soby     Garth was born in Calgary and has been fishing as long as he can remember. He's been a guide on the Bow River for the past 28 years, supported Trout Unlimited since it's inception in Calgary, and continues to be an avid fly tyer. Garth works full-time in the Oil and Gas industry and shares his home with his wife of 28 years and two sons.

Secretary - Craig Robillard     Craig grew up fishing for the three P's - perch, pickerel, and pike - in Manitoba. After completing his Bachelor of Science in computer science at the University of Manitoba, Craig moved to Calgary and picked up his first fly rod. He learned to fly fish for trout in downtown Calgary and soon became interested in conservation and Trout Unlimited.         He's been a TUC-BRC board member for the past eight years, coordinated the chapter's tackle swap for the past 10 years, and is an active member of the Fall Splash dinner committee.     "Most people in Calgary don't realize how special and precious the Bow River is" says Craig. "Calgary is unique in North America having such a quality trout fishery downstream of a city approaching a population of one million. Maintaining the quality of the Bow in the face of ongoing development is a challenge and responsibility for those who love it and it's trout fishery."

Treasurer - David Shaw    David Grew up canoeing and fishing the lakes and rivers of Northern Saskatchewan and became "addicted" to water at an early age. He was instantly taken by the beauty and serenity of Alberta's mountain rivers and streams after moving to the province ten years ago. David has provided volunteer consulting services at the National office of TUC and has been actively involved in various planning and operational activities. He lives in Calgary where he enjoys self-employment and family time with his wife and three-year-old son

BRC Board Member - Graham Anderson     Graham was born and raised in Oyen, Alberta. He now lives on the Bow downstream of the Carseland Weir. Although Graham started his angling pursuits with spin and bait fishing gear, he's now an avid fly angler. His interests in the sport include everything from casting and tying, to history and conservation. He's an active member of TUC-BRC as well as the Federation of Fly Fishers (FFF). Graham was on the Lower Bow Advisory Committee for fishing regulations, he's also a volunteer on the Fall Splash dinner committee, and a long-time donor to TUC events. He's very familiar with the Bow below the weir and is an informed voice on issues facing that stretch such as irrigation diversions.     Graham shares his home with his wife, Yvonne, and their five daughters. When he's not at home or on the water, Graham is often seen with his cell phone in hand on company business.

BRC Board Member - Curtis Clements    Curtis was recently introduced to fly-fishing and was immediately impressed with the challenges and rewards of the sport. In the fall of 2003, Curtis brought his interest in habitat and water resource conservation and management to TUC-BRC. Curtis has put his bachelor's degrees in biology and engineering to work in the field of environmental consulting for the past four years. He plans to pursue a degree in education starting this fall.

BRC Board Member - Jim Kozey    Jim Kozey is an environmental biologist with Alpine Environmental Limited in Calgary. He has a diverse background in a wide variety of environmental projects in the areas of remediation, reclamation, environmental impact assessment in the transportation and oil and gas industries. Jim originally hails from Swift Current, Saskatchewan but has call Calgary home for more than 20 years. Jim completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology in 1994 and a Master's Degree in Environmental Design in 2000 both from the University of Calgary.    Jim is a registered member of the Alberta Society of Professional Biologists. His interests with TUC lie in the areas of advocacy and habitat restoration and improvement. Jim is an avid fly-fisherman and has been actively fishing the Bow for the past 16 years.

She's currently kept very busy with her young family and family-owned business.
